Literary Response # 3

I have felt some personal connection with this book in the form of racial discrimination.  Here in South Africa, though apartheid (the racial segregation of black and white people) is over, there is still a lot of tension.  Also, I can visualize the small town Southern Atmosphere from living in Seagrove and visiting Alabama.  They talk about fried chicken, corn bread and lemonade which brings back many memories.  I am really enjoying this book.  Harper Lee is an excellent writer and I think she did an amazing job bringing the characters and plot together into this story.
