Catch up.....

So I finally finished my project!!!!  It was such a big range that it took a ton of time .. it is 47 pages!  But I am finished now!!!  On to FLVS...

DAILY GOALS!!!!!

I am happy today!!!!  My little brothers are back to school after their fall break!!! YAY!  That means peace and quietness until about 1:40.... oh yeah!

So today, i have a lot to do!  I have to fix my first project based on feedback from Mr. Huber and I have to get very far on my next one...I finally finished my literary analysis yesterday (yay!!!) I am so happy...now i have to start working.....

End of day ...

Well, I have been working hard today and I did not accomplish as much as I wanted to, but I got my literary analysis almost completed and a DBA for math.  I would give myself a 3 out of 5 because I am still not over being sick... :(

Goals

Wow!  I have a lot to do today.  I was sick last week from Tuesday and I am still trying to get over it ... it is really not pleasant.  So, when I was busy being sick, I was also getting very far behind on my work for FLVS and my project (not a good idea).  This week so far, I have been trying to make-up last weeks work and work on my new project, my literary analysis, and my old project (which still has no expert feedback ...).  So, I have a lot to do.

Today, I would like to finish my literary analysis (it was totally wrong before because I had NO idea what I was doing).  I would   also like to actually begin working on my new project.  I have found a bit of background information, but I have not accomplished as much as I would have liked.

Well, I better get started!!!

(There is some good news :).  We FINALLY got our internet into a different system so that it will actually WORK now.  Oh yeah.)

Daily goals for yesterday ....

As I was in bed sick yesterday, I will complete that work today, so here are my goals:

• Finish project planning form
• Work on my literary analysis
• Start my project

I am still waiting to hear back from my experts about my other project .... I am interested to see what they will say.  Well, I am very behind on all my work (and for FLVS) so I better get working ...

End of Day Reflection ...

I have decided to do my project on World Culture Standard 8: Recognize significant events and people from the post World War II and Cold War eras.  I am excited to start a new project!!!  I have decided on the essential question:

What did the main leaders of WW11 and the Cold war have in common?

I sent in my literary analysis rough draft (YAY!!!) and I am now working on my project planning form which I need to finish.  I have decided not to use Prezi this time for two reasons; (a) I am a perfectionist, and on Prezi, if you mess up one thing, you have to move everything over a millimeter to another direction and make it smaller then add things (which takes about ages) ... not for me and (b) I have never even heard of these things before (to present things in a better way than a Powerpoint - here in South Africa, a powerpoint is super high-tech.  Posters are totally in .... the majority of people do not have internet) so, I decided to try something new - Glogster!  It looks like tons of fun and more user friendly (for me at least, I am sometimes technically challenged :) ).  

My next steps are to finish my project planning form, then start an outline of my project.  I am still waiting to hear from my experts from my other project ...

I am finally starting to get used to the new hours of schooling - I went from waking up at 6:00 to get to school (yuck ... ) and going to sleep around 9:30 to waking up late and going to sleep late - it is always so strange to talk through Skype and see that it is morning there, or that my dinner 'break' is at lunch ... but I like it!  It makes life more interesting ..... so, instead of saying I have to go home now and have my afternoon, I am saying goodnight, I need to go to sleep ... so strange ...  

Daily Goals

Today I have to finish my draft for my literary analysis (it is my first, so I have no idea what I am doing, but I am learning :) ).  I also need to choose a standard for my project and start working on the planning form.  I have finished To Kill A Mockingbird and I really liked it, but the end surprised me a lot!  I like the idea of all working together on a project ... I think it would be fun and a good way to interact more (but I don't know what I would do since I am working on World History).  I am trying to decide between:

Standard 4: Analyze the causes, events, and effects of the Renaissance, Reformation, Scientific Revolution, and Age of Exploration.

Standard 8: Recognize significant events and people from the post World War II and Cold War eras.

Standard 9: Identify major economic, political, social, and technological trends beginning in the 20th century.

I am really not sure ... Maybe I will try to come up with an essential question first and then choose based on that.
